If you have found your way to this page then the likelihood is that you aren’t satisfied with your general levels of achievement on Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3, or you simply wish to build in an already strong set of skills.
Let me tell you now that this article isn’t going to instantly improve you. Ok, if you pay close attention then it’s likely that you will quite quickly be topping the leader boards however just like every other skill in life, practise makes perfect.
I’ll start with the very basic strategies that apply to you whatever the way you are playing.
Reloading: A golden rule of all FPS games. You should never begin a confrontation without having a full clip. You may think that it’s fine, you don’t need more than a few bullets to kill someone. How do you know there will only be one person. I tend not to look at my ammo gauge when I’m shooting so it’s a surprise when I run out. I’ll start shooting someone and if you clip runs out my secondary may not be there to save me quickly enough. A full clip will get you a triple kill instead of one kill and a bullet to the teeth. You should always check before you reload. If you need to then hide and then reload. If you crouch behind a wall the enemy will usually run straight on by.
Anger Management: You may find this tip a joke however it’s a HUGE part of video games. If you lose your temper you WILL play worse. Control yourself and then don’t rush back. Sometimes going back to kill a camper will end in a second avoidable, unwanted death.
Other tactics of Call of Duty all change with what you are using. If you want to stay well away from the target then using a Sub-Machine Gun is not going to get you far. The damage drop off over range is significant and will leave you screaming that they killed you quicker even though you shot them loads. So listen up.
I’ll start the series of posts with the lowest end of the spectrum. Each day I will add new a new range and situation set. Search the site for your range.
Very Short Range: Shotguns and Sub Machine guns work well here. Start with an SMG then progress to a shotgun.
You need to remember that at the end of the day you need to go to the enemy to get the best amount of kills. This means that you need to make sure that every situation you enter allows you to be on the greener grass. Move through the buildings and when this isn’t possible chose routes that have lots of corners in. Don’t run through the middle of the map. Ever. It won’t get you to the enemy quicker. It will get you well positioned inside an enemy campers sights. Sadly you are invincible. Nor can you dodge bullets that are coming at you. It takes an unusually crap enemy to miss you in those kind of situations.
