Minecraft Hits Another Milestone, Decorations Update?
First of all, we must give Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition some well earned applause. It has now reached 3.6 million copies sold on Xbox Live!!! That it just phenomenal!! Mojang’s business developer, Daniel Kaplan, announced these numbers on Twitter earlier on in the day claiming that he was ‘really surprised’ at the amount of sales they have had.
As we all know, Minecraft has beaten the XBLA sales record pretty much as soon as the title launched (Some of our stories: Profitable In one hour,Smashing record rates, Selling 17,000 copies per day, going platinum). It was (an still is) an incredible feat to imagine, with it still so popular as well, we can all expect these numbers to keep rising every single day!!
So you maybe wondering about the Decorations update mention in the title? Well, Jens ‘Jeb’ Bergernstern (Minecrafts Lead Developer), posted some details (via twitter) regarding an upcoming feature update that will be adding decorative blocks into our games. (See image above)
These decorative blocks can be place on a variety of surfaces, use them to proudly enchance your living rooms, castles, floating islands or whatever you decide to build. A full reveal of this update is yet to arrive (like what kind of blocks do we get?), but hopefully Jeb and the rest of the guys will release some more information AsAP.
What would you build? I think that I would be looking to make a full ‘trophy room’ with mounted heads of all the enemies in the game…too creepy? Maybe but it will look great! What sort of things would you build with these decorative blocks? Let me know in the comments!
