Minecraft, what’s different?
EASTER
As you all know, or should know, Minecraft is coming to Xbox on the 9th of May, 2012. You’re probably wondering how it will be different from the PC version.
So, the version on Xbox will be similar to the PC, but it will have exclusive features:
- You can (optionally) be able to make use of Kinect to assist in your gameplay, although this function will not be available at release. Be glad that instead of clicking a mouse, your punching thin air to cut trees.
- It will not make use of the standard crafting interface as in the original version. The interface won’t require you to place items in the correct place in a crafting menu, but will simply ask what it is that you want to craft, tell you the blocks required to craft it, and-if you have those blocks-give you the item. Making this a much easier way of crafting, so I’m told.
- A split-screen co-op function will be featured. Up to 4 players. As well as a online 8 player mode to be released after launch.
- Mods, Texture Packs and extra player skins will be available much later.
Hopefully, there will be more details sooner, on how the Xbox version differentiates itself to its father, the PC.
Cannot wait to step into the textured cube scene that friends have praised, and create limitless amounts of things.

“wandering” = “wondering”
Also, I’m disappointed that alpha buyers like me won’t get this version for free, even though alpha buyers are guaranteed “all future versions” for free. Say it ain’t so, Notch!
Hi ablestmage,
Thanks for correcting my post, I truly appreciate it. I am correcting it after this.
In reply to your question, sadly no. This is because Minecraft XBLA is separate and not covered by your ‘Alpha Buyer’ status.
Thanks,
