Left 4 Dead Cold Stream…OUT NOW *UPDATE 2*

You may have remembered a while back, we posted about the new DLC, Cold Stream coming out for Left 4 Dead 2. Unfortunatley it was delayed on the Xbox due to Microsofts certification process (for the title update) and with no future release date was given.

However, as a nice surprise turn it has been announced that the DLC will be making it’s way to us on Friday 3rd August 2012! So get ready to go through the amazing campaigns from Left 4 Dead 1, (No Mercy, Dead Air, Death Toll, Blood Harvest and the Crash Course DLC) as well as the brand new Cold Stream campaigns to L4D2. Also included in this new DLC is the ability to have access to all of the game’s mutations, all the time. So no need to wait for your favourite mode to come back along. However, you will need the Passing DLC to get the access to the Mutations.

The DLC will be the hefty size of 1GB to download and will be available for purchase for the amazing price of 560 MSP! Not bad really for what we are getting.

Update: 3rd August 2012

So, here we are, 3rd August, the day Valve said the DLC will be released. The day is almost over now and no content has been released so far. The new title update has hit the consoles with the main menu in the game having the Cold Stream option. But when you try to play it you get a lovely error message pop up. All valve/xbox support have to say is that the content is still arriving today, with some comments saying that it’s due for release ‘normal time’. What normal time is to them I’m not sure, but here in the UK content is normally released around midday. That was 7 hours ago. I’m keeping an eye on the situation and as soon as I know more, I will update you all here.

Update 2: 3rd August (just about)

Finally the DLC is out (In the UK anyway) coming in at 11pm, just an hour short of missing the release date. Honestly though, this was terrible handling of a simple DLC hand out. And with no comment from L4D Dev on twitter, it just gets worse. But at least it’s out now I guess.
