Joy Ride Coming to XBLA without Kinect..
Microsoft have now announced that Kinects Joy Ride is getting a sequel, but in a bizarre twist of events it will be leaving out the Kinect part. Joy Ride Turbo will now be a ‘controller based arcade racer’, which they are claiming will deliver precision handling, stunts and drifting.
The game will be set in an all new stunt park where you will be able to do a multitude of strange things. Jumping off cliff edges, getting shots out of cannons and more. There will be a total of 42 vehicles to unlock, trophies, coins and car parts while racing. Each vehicle to have their own characteristics as well, so a bit more strategy in choosing what car you will be driving.
JRT will have 3 modes, Battle race, Pro race and Time Trials. It will have a 4 player local play with up to 8 players over Xbox live. JRT will have weapons to use against your opponents in the game, rocket launchers, mines and other explosives to blow your opponents away. This is all due to come out within the next few weeks.
I can’t help but think that all of this sounds familiar. Joy Ride..without Kinect…wasn’t that what they announced before Kinect was released? Then they took it away, put Kinect functions with it and slammed a price tag on it? Sounds like MS are back tracking a little with this. Guess we will find out over the next few weeks when we hear a little bit more about Joy Ride Turbo.
