Internet Browser heading for the Xbox?
For years now people have been asking Microsoft for an internet browser on their Xbox 360, and for years Microsoft has said no. But it looks like that this demand for an internet browser has become too much for Microsoft to handle as now they are currently testing a modified version of IE9 on the 360 consoles.
As you all know, in the last big update we got the Bing voice search (if you have a Kinect) but it was just limited to the media results that are currently on the Xbox marketplace. With this new browser in place the Bing voice search will open up a full browser on the console itself. Sources state that the browser will let Xbox gamers surf all parts of the web directly from their console.
As you would expect, the Kinect will also be featuring in the browser using the motion gestures and voice control to help navigate the browser. Don’t worry, the Kinect isn’t needed to use the browser, you can just use the control pad if that’s more of a natural feel for you. There isn’t any word on a launch date for the Browser, but with E3 not too far away we can expect to hear something more official from Microsoft then.
Are you glad that a browser is coming to the 360? Let us know you views in the comments below!
UPDATE: Bear in mind guys that this is still just a rumor at the moment, a soon as anything more concrete turns up we will let you know!
