Ghost Recon: Future Soldier – Guerrilla Mode
After playing a Ghost Recon game once before, I have had the series down as a waste of space ever since. It didn’t gain my attention, nor did it ever make me want to return. Yet it has to be said that the latest mode to be announced in to be Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, Guerrilla mode, is shaping up to be a twist of genius from the Tom Clancy team.
Most of us have encountered the Call of Duty zombie modes or more recently Spec Ops meaning holding off waves of enemies is no new feature to us. However Guerrilla mode will allow users to reenact the tactics used by troops when fighting insurgents. These fighting veterans would, instead of hunting, take over an insurgent stronghold and then wait for them to attack, meaning the chance of ambush and difficulties of searching were non-existent. In Guerrilla mode the player will first stealthily seize an enemy position and then attempt to hold off 10 waves of the adversaries before being ordered to set up shop in another locality. This extremely interesting feature shows just the kind of innovation that is needed in the gaming industry. Other features of Future Soldier such as the Kinect’s part to play are looking sharp and have certainly caught our eye.
