Ghost Recon: Future Soldier ‘Arctic Strike’ DLC Review
The first piece of ‘Ghost Recon: Future Soldier’ DLC has hit the Xbox 360 Marketplace and it’s the eagerly anticipated ‘Arctic Strike’. For a mere 800MSP and in comparison to other pieces of DLC that gets released from other companies, ‘Arctic Strike’ for me represents great value for your money as you will get given a good handful of content.
Ghost Recon: Future Soldier prior to its release has been a game on my radar for a very long time and when the release finally came around, I was not disappointed in the slightest as it lived up to my own high expectations and you can read my review from the link below.

The ‘Arctic Strike’ DLC includes the following content:
3 New Multiplayer Maps
Riot: Located in downtown Moscow, the deserted streets provide tight corners and burned out vehicles that are ideal for cover, tight alleyways which give you the perfect opportunity to ambush your opponents with shotgun or C4/Grenade attacks.
Evicted: Carries on the fight in the streets of Moscow in a sleepy residential neighbourhood. Like ‘Riot’, this map provides long alleyways perfect for the ambush and large apartment complexes ideal for you snipers out there. With so many places to hide, UAV’s and Sensors are less effective in ‘Evicted’, so communication will be the key to your team’s success.
Skyline: Is a two level ‘Close Quarter Battle’ setting, which will be perfect for some fast and frantic paced action. The limited access points provide perfect locations to set traps for your opponents and the two towers in ‘Skyline’ provide perfect locations for snipers to pick out there opponents and provide cover fire for their teammates.
New Multiplayer mode called “Stockade”
- Stockade is the exciting new mode that is exclusive to the ‘Arctic Strike’ map pack. When players die, they are placed in a respawn queue, called the “Stockade”. When a player gets a kill, one dead teammate gets freed from the ‘Stockade’.
- Each team has an objective; by completing these objectives will free all your teammates from the ‘Stockade’.
- The game ends when every player from one team is placed in the ‘Stockade’.
New Guerrilla Co –Op Map
Arctic Base: Hostile forces and nature combine to make this ‘Arctic Base’ a potential death-trap with snow cutting visibility and the enemy dug in at their base means there’s nowhere to hide, either way you in for a tough fight.
6 New weapons such as: Rifleman: F2000, Rifleman: CZS805, Scout: JSG Type 05, Scout: MP9, Engineer: OCP-11, Engineer: Mk17
Closing Comments
The stand alone game offered not only a great campaign that can be played with up to three other players, but as me and my friends found out the ‘Guerrilla’ mode was an absolute blast, not to mention the other entire competitive online match types. Even when the campaign has been long finished, there is so much within Ghost Recon: Future Soldier that encourages you to come back for more and now with the arrival of the ‘Arctic Strike’ DLC, it just adds to an already great package.
‘Artic Strike’ may have been a little delayed than expected; it was certainly worth the wait. But in all fairness to the team at Ubisoft, it was all about making sure this DLC is to their own high standards and to give their Ghost Recon fans the best possible DLC package and I believe they have achieved this and at 800MSP it offer great value for money.
With all this content at this very reasonable price, there’s very little to complain about, so what are you waiting for soldier? Head over to the Xbox 360 Marketplace and get downloading.
FINAL RATING 9/10
You can download ‘Artic Strike’ here marketplace.xbox.com/en-GB/Product/Arctic-Strike-DLC-Pack or of course through your Xbox 360 console.
