Well, almost. After being voted the ‘Worst Company in America’ and a public outcry with the Mass Effect 3 ending Electronic Arts are having a torrid time. Its share price has slumped to $16, and recently rumours of mass lay-offs within the company have surfaced; anything between 5 and 11 percent of the entire workforce.

Poor Battlefield and Star Wars: Old Republic sales are seen as the key attribute to the current troubles, although Battlefield 3 is a great game, possibly the best I’ve ever played, it is limited to those that want to spend time to learn it; generally the waning number of hardcore gamers.

Additionally five of EA’s top executives have defected to Zynga. EA are currently at a cross roads; to the left is its demise, to its right a young fresh input – taking the publishers to a new level.
