Getting your weapons maxed out rapidly may end up expansive.
Last week, we reported that Dead Space 3 would have in-game transactions where you’ll be able to purchase resources to upgrade your weapons.
Well today we have some details. Not only will you be able to purchase add-ons for your weapons, but also buying Scavenger bots (and personalities for said bots). Here’s a list of what will be able to purchase:
- Bot Accelerator $4.99
- Bot Capacity Upgrade $4.99
- Bot Personality Pack $4.99
- Epic Weapon & Resource Pack $2.99
- First Contact Pack Free
- Marauder Pack $4.99
- Online Pass $9.99
- Resource Pack $0.99
- Sharpshooter Pack $4.99
- Tundra Recon Pack $4.99
- Ultra Weapon & Resource Pack $1.99
- Witness the Truth Pack $4.99
Among the list, you probably spotted an Online pass. Which will be so secondhand buyers have a chance to buy the content. However, Dead Space 3 associate producer, Yara Khoury confirmed you won’t be able to buy this right off the bat so you can breeze through the game.
Also confirmed will be additional DLC that will be available post-release. Without any further details, it was said it would be “disturbing content” and Executive Producer Steve Papoutsis said in would be “coming in a few weeks”.
“The team is hard at work on a top secret additional story that will be coming in a few weeks. We’re not saying much, yet – but think ‘disturbing’ to get your imaginations going.” said Papoutsis on the Dead Space blog.
Papoutsis also revealed the modes available once you’ve completed the game for the first time; here’s how Papoutsis described them:
Classic: “For the DS1 veterans out there. It’s single-player only, uses ‘classic’ aiming, and there’s no crafting – all weapons have to be built from blueprints, a la the original game.”
Game+: “Lets you start a new game with all your upgrades and arsenal intact.”
Hardcore: “Choose this mode, and you only get one life to live for the entire campaign. Make sure to wear a clean pair of boxers when you play…”
Pure Survival: “If you like survival horror and resource management, this is the mode for you. Enemies ONLY drop resources, and there’s no ammo, health, or weapon parts to be found. You’ll have to choose what to craft every time you see a bench. Upgrade? Med Pack? Plasma Core? Think fast – there’s a Waster right around the corner!”
Looks like there’s enough of a challenge to keep Dead Space fans occupied for a few weeks!
Dead Space 3 releases on February 5th 2013 in North America and on the 8th in UK territories.
