[private]Nikolai, Soap, and Price arrive at a high tech medical facility to treat Soap’s wounds. After Soap is fully healed, Nikolai reveals that Vladimir Makarov has now teamed with a new Lieutenant named Bason in the ongoing war against Russia. Nikolai also reveals that Alejandro Rojas continues to provide weapons and vehicles to Makarov, and so they decide that the first plan of action is to cut the vehicles and weapons support by locating and killing Rojas, but this search will not be easy, as Rojas constantly moves from one location to the next; their first stop leads them to a Russian town called Vyzhaikha where Rojas stopped to collect some weapons; As Nikolai, Soap, and Price make their way into the town, they are bombarded by Rojas’s men. After taking care of Rojas’s men, they search the town to try to find a clue as to where Rojas would deliver the weapons he picked up.

While searching through a house, Soap finds a note that reads as follows:

“Rojas, after you have picked up the weapons in Vyzhaikha, deliver them to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado.”

Their next stop takes them to the Rocky Mountains in Colorado. Before they land their helicopter down, they decide to past through the Rocky Mountains to see what kind of setup Makarov has; as they are pasting through, small rockets start to appear on the radar; Price tells them that Makarov’s radar has picked them up; they try to avoid the rockets, but they can’t and their helicopter crashes; so now they have to scale up the mountain, and make it to Makarov’s base of operations. As they scale the mountain, they have to go through Markarov’s men. As they get closer, Price sees two watch towers, and tells Nikolai and Soap to go up on a hill and shoot down the snipers that are on the watch towers. Once Nikolai and Soap give Price the signal that the snipers are down, Price proceeds to the watch towers to gather up weapons, ammo, and then places charges on the towers to blow them up to prevent reinforcements from using the towers.

As Nikolai and Soap are heading down the hill to meet Price, they notice a small band of men come out from behind a thick set of bushes; Nikolai tells Soap to go and help Price while he provides cover for him. Soap starts to go down the hill, and then all of a sudden Nikolai knocks Soap out with his gun, and drags him down the hill to where Price is. Price then discovers that Nikolai cut a deal with Lieutenant Bason. If Nikolai were to deliver Price and Soap to him, Bason would let Nikolai become part of his army and give him the rank of Corporal. Soap and Price are brought to Makarov’s base of operations and are locked inside a cell with their weapons take away while Bason and Nikolai go to meet Makarov to discuss their next military target.

Once Soap wakes up, Price tells him about Nikolai’s betrayal. Price and Soap try to figure out a way to escape the cell and notice a ventilation shaft. Price notices a crowbar and uses it to take the cover off; Price and Soap climb into the shaft and navigate their way through to a small storage room that contains a few weapons and some ammo. After Price and Soap get what they need, they proceed through the complex to find Makarov, Nikolai, and Bason. They finally find them in a big conference room and use a set of charges to blast open the doors; the explosion knocks Makarov, Nikolai, and Bason off their feet. As Price and Soap get into the room, a swarm of Makarov’s men come out.

As Price and Soap are trying to take care of Makarov’s men, Makarov, Nikolai, and Bason attempt to escape the complex by using the helicopter. Price and Soap finally take down all the men and chase after them. When they get to the helicopter pad, Makarov, Nikolai and Bason are already off the ground and gaining distance. Price uses the sniper rifle he has to try to take out someone, and he manages to shoot Nikolai in the head, and Nikolai falls off the helicopter, and plunges into the snow.

Price and Soap watch Bason and Makarov escape. They return inside the complex and into the conference and learn that Makarov intends to attack California and take over a key military base in Visalia. Price uses the radio at the complex to call in an exaction, and Sergeant Foley responds and says that exaction will arrive in two minutes; he then tells Price that Makarov called in reinforcements to the complex, and tells Price to try to hold on until exaction call arrive. Sergeant Foley then arrives, and Price and Soap proceed to California to try to protect the military base. Price and Soap arrive in Visalia, but it is already too late as Makarov and Bason has already arrived and have taken over the base.

Price and Soap made their way through the base. Price sees Bason and attempts to kill him. Bason uses his gun to bash Price in the head. Price falls on the ground dazed; As Bason is about to shoot Price, Soap comes from behind and stabs Bason in the back. Bason falls to the ground. As Price recovers, he sees a helicopter rising with Makarov in it, and once again Makarov manages to escape. Sergeant Foley comes by and says that more troops are coming in, and they need to go somewhere safe.[/private]
