Gearbox aren’t known for taking half measures when it comes to rewarding fans. After all, they agreed to create a personal video for a fan in which a Clap-Trap proposes to his girlfriend.

So when the now viral “Wimoweh” trailer was released, it wasn’t a surprise that it was hardly what people were expecting.

The video treats us to a look at some of the more exotic wildlife we’re likely to encounter in our next adventure across Pandora. First on the list of animals sure to make you suffer, we have a lizard-bat combination, with forearms acting as wings. It takes off for a short flight before it’s soon shot down by an unseen force, informing the team it was a “deadly shot that came from nowhere”

We’re then treated to a glimpse of some Bullymongs, leaping across silos and small buildings, jumping with a gait similar to an ape, albeit a huge blue 4-armed ape. Remember the Alpha Skags? Imagine a bigger one, covered in armour plates and being ridden by a bandit. Yep, because that’s what’s up next on the menu, closely followed by a demonstration of the new character’s special powers,  including Zer0′s hologram, which he uses to take down a hulking beast with a headshot.

The video then takes a strangely techno turn, as car duels, giant robots and a swarm of one-man jets face destruction at the hands of our heroes, whilst the soundtrack switches to a robotic faltering style.

Footage then cuts to a blinding light, which moves and pans to reveal it to be a glowing phoenix wing, one of two attached to the shoulders of old fan favourite Lilith. Yes, it seems the original characters may have had an XP overdose since we last saw them.

We don’t see much of her, however, as the focus soon returns to Pandora’s inhabitants, namely the new Bandit Marauder, carrying a riot sheild to which is strapped 3 midgets, all happily bobbing along to the backing track.

The music cuts out though, as an insanely obese women (think Kendra Krinklesac from The Cleveland Show, only minus the scooter) shouts for someone to speak up. Except talking louder won’t work. Because they are inside a crusher. Which then crushes them, with a delightfully cel-shaded spray of blood.

Don’t worry, I’m sure they deserved it. Ah well, who wants to meet Tiny Tina? Well, we get to see her in this next scene, a young teenager skipping around a dynamite laden bandit, as she heads towards a plunger before leaping on it with a playful glint in her eye, and a bloodied bandit mask worn like a trophy on the side of her head

The footage ends with an upbeat tone, as a Clap-Trap makes his way way through debris and carcasses, swinging his arms and sing along to the tune. As the short teaser comes to a close, we’re reminded of the pre-order incentive, namely the new Mechromancer class, with the ability to summon what seems like a ghostly mash-up of robotic parts

Quite simply, I'm 18, I'm a huge metalhead (but I dont judge others for their music tastes), I'm a zombie "fan", if you can be a fan of the marauding undead. I've been a huge gamer all my life, and I've managed to get my 4 year old sister to follow in my footsteps (She plays a mean round of Crash Nitro Kart)
