‘Black Ops 2’ Levelling up and Perks detailed!
‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’ is just short of two months away and ‘Treyarch’ have announced many changes to the single player campaign to help take the franchise forward, but the single player is not the only feature to have a change, as the online multiplayer has also had some tweaking. One of the growing problems with the ‘Call of Duty’ online community is that some of the perks are deemed to be a tad bit unfair, especially to those players who cannot dedicate as much time to the game as others.
One of the online features to have a tweak is with the new ‘Create a Class’ mode, each time you level up, you will unlock new gear (as always). So to enhance on the new changes and to give us an inkling to how some of the changes will in fact work, Treyarch’s ‘David Vonderhaar’ has been at hand to give us some new details.
‘Black Ops 2’ will have a level cap of 55 and the amount of XP required to level up, will work in a similar manner to the previous ‘Black Ops’ game. As usual with previous ‘Call of Duty’ games, the ‘Create a Class’ function will not be available from the off-set and you will unlock this function when you reach level four.
Once you have reached level four, several weapons will become available to you, such as:
- 1 Assault Rifle
- 1 SMG
- 1 LMG
- 1 Shotgun
- 1 Sniper Rifle
- 1 Perk from each of the 3 perk categories
- 1 lethal grenade
- 1 tactical grenade/equipment
And once you have surpassed level four, the following unlocks will be available to you in this manor:
- Level 5: Perk
- Level 6: Equipment
- Level 7: Scorestreak (3 free and 3 optional ones to unlock with tokens)
- Level 8: Perk
- Level 9: Scorestreak
‘David Vonderhaar’ then added, “At level 10, we start to settle into a pattern. There are exceptions, but the pattern is generally like this. At every major rank change, which is every 3 levels, we give you a gun and usually “something else” as a bonus for reaching a major rank change.”
Getting used to how a new game works takes a little time (speaking for myself), especially when it comes to knowing what ‘Call of Duty’ weapons/perks are better suited to how you play. So I hope this little insight from ‘David Vonderhaar’ has helped out a little and has given us an idea of what to expect and how the levelling up and rewards system will work.
I’m counting down the days to ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’ release date and I can’t wait to get back into the swing of online gaming. In case you’ve been living under a rock for the last several months, ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops 2’ is set for a worldwide release date of November 13th.
