No Assassins Creed III Multiplayer beta!
If any of you guys and gals had any hopes of participating in an ‘Assassins Creed III’ beta, then unfortunately those hopes appear to be crushed. There have been open beta’s for previous Assassins Creed game, but according to an interview by ‘XboxGameZone’ with “Damien Kieken” (Multiplayer Game Director at Ubisoft Annecy); he confirmed that there will be no beta for the highly anticipated next instalment.
“Damien Kieken” went on to say in the interview:
“To be honest, it’s something we want to do every year because we get community feedback that helps us tune the game, but doing a beta takes a lot of time; we’d need to polish a version, submit it to the platform holders and support it when it’s out. And all the time put into the beta doesn’t go into the final game. Because we wanted to push so many things into the game, we took the hard decision to favour the final game content instead of doing a beta and we believe it will be favourable in the end.
The team has been working on the game since Revelations‘ launch and has brought multiple studios together as Kieken explains, “Bucharest help us on some feature development and map building, while Shanghai aid us with some of the multiplayer characters.”
He also went on to briefly mention a new multiplayer mode that will be included in ‘Assassins Creed III’ called ‘Wolfpack’, “We always want to improve our game as well as head in some new directions to innovate. ‘Wolfpack’ serves this purpose, being our first Player VS AI mode.”
So what do our readers feel, are you disappointed that there won’t be a beta for ‘ACIII’? Or are you not at all bothered about playing a beta?
